Colas a renowned company in the asphalt production industry, has sought the expertise of Maintain Coastal Services Pty Ltd (MCS) for many years.

MCS was tasked with a critical project involving the rebuild and replacement of the inside parts of the Colas Bells Creek Pug Mill. A Pug Mill running correctly is vital for the production of high-quality asphalt, and maintaining their optimal performance is essential.

Challenges

Asphalt Plant Pug mills’ internal components are constantly subjected to significant wear subsequently over time, this has a detrimental effect on the plant’s overall efficiency and output quality. MCS has maintained this vital piece of equipment for many years.

Replacement parts needed to match exact specifications and be durable enough to withstand the harsh operating environment and the rebuild and replacement process had to be executed with minimal disruption to the plant’s operations over the Xmas shutdown.

Solution

MCS led by the Colas project team conducted a thorough assessment of the Pug Mill to  to identify all the components that required replacement or rebuilding. Using high-grade materials, our team fabricated and installed the new parts, ensuring they met the exact specifications and enhanced the durability of the Mill.

Outcome
