Hanson Concrete, a major supplier of ready-mixed concrete, commissioned Maintain Coastal Services Pty Ltd (MCS) to replace a set of existing Grizzlys at their Maroochydore facility.
Grizzlys are essential for screening and separating oversized materials, ensuring that only properly sized aggregates are used in concrete production. The existing units had deteriorated very badly due to rust, necessitating a full replacement to maintain operational efficiency.
Challenges
- Corrosion: The existing Grizzlys had been significantly compromised by rust, affecting their performance and posing a risk to workers as well as the overall production process.
- Durability: The new Grizzlys are being constructed in high grade MS, hot dipped galvanised to withstand the harsh environmental conditions and heavy usage.

MCS designed and fabricated new Grizzlys using high-grade, corrosion-resistant materials. The new units were engineered to fit seamlessly into the existing infrastructure while providing enhanced durability. Our team ensured that the replacement was delivered efficiently, with minimal downtime for the plant. - Installation: On this occasion Hansons own inhouse team installed the Grizzlys, showing that MCS is flexible when it comes to working alongside clients’ inhouse maintenance teams.
