Project Overview
Kilcoy Meats, a prominent meat processor in SEQ, entrusted Maintain Coastal Services Pty Ltd (MCS) with the fabrication of a nearly 9-meter long auger for their processing facility. This project required not only the construction of the auger but also precise engineering to ensure balance and efficiency during operation.
Challenges
Scale: The auger’s length of 8.4 meters presented challenges in maintaining structural integrity and balance.
Precision: Ensuring that the auger operated smoothly without any imbalances that could affect the processing workflow.
Coordination: Collaboration with engineering suppliers and integrating high-quality components.
Solution
MCS collaborated with Jacmor, a renowned engineering supplier, to source high-quality flights essential for the auger. Utilizing our skilled work forces fabrication abilities we crafted the flights and integrated them into the auger, ensuring every component aligned perfectly. Our team engineered the shaft to be perfectly balanced, which is critical for the auger’s long-term performance working in a such a harsh industrial environment.
Outcome
The successful delivery of this balanced auger highlights MCS’s capacity to handle large-scale projects with precision. Once installed the auger will an integral part of Kilcoy Meats’ processing line, contributing to the efficiency and reliability of their operations.
